Discover How Helping Those Below Will Help You Build Up Your Brand
“If you wish to experience peace, provide peace for another.”
- Dalai Lama
I want to share with you a simple trick, I learned when I was a kid, yet most people and companies don’t do it.
In class, I would help those who needed help. Even in gym class, I would make sure everyone was participating and having fun doing whatever it was we were doing. It killed me to be playing a game and a few people would stay off to the side and I’m sure they felt left out.
How did this help me out? Well, my father taught me that these people could help me out in the future. He used a simple example of them working or owning a tire shop and if I went there, they would remember me and at the least provide excellent and fast service but most likely I would get a discount (or maybe even a set of used tires he’s had lying around).
You get the point. Basically, if your helpful and friendly to those that need it, they will remember. You will get support, back-links, marketers, and more. Probably even more important is the peace of mind and happiness that you’ll feel. Not sure where I read this but another tip I learned that changed the way I work is one that everyone should know and use. Teaching and learning is a continuum, meaning that no matter what skill level you are, there are always going to be people over and under you.
So you might not be the expert on something? Who cares. Think you are THE expert on something. Sorry to burst your bubble but you’re not. That is unless you are the one that actually created the product or service, then I’ll give you credit.
Am I an expert on gaining traffic to websites and blogs? Not exactly, but I enjoy learning and writing about how people can. I share my knowledge with those that need it. Let’s tie these together. Help people out and teach those who have something to learn from you. This should be an instant confidence builder. You know more about something then someone else. Pick a topic you will love to write about and start sharing your wealth of knowledge. Someone will listen. Be persistent and don’t give up.
It’s not where or when you start, it’s how and if you finish.
